“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.”
― Roald Dahl

I really liked the Harry Potter books every day, I can say that it changed my understanding of books and literature. After finish every book, I watched its movie. There were some differences compared to the books, but when you look to only movies without comparing them with books, they are as fun as the books. I can't list all my reasons for loving Harry Potter, as there are tens of them. However, in this post, I am writing about one of the two biggest reasons behind my love for Harry Potter. And these two reasons are the muggle term and the wizard term.
Normally in a fantastic movie, you would see only the magical creatures and powerful characters. Although you can see humans, they are generally super cool, super talented, and super strong humans like Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings. When you look at Harry Potter movies and books, there are lots of humans who include both good and evil characters. These nonmagical, average, and boring creatures (basically us) are called muggles in the series. I think seeing normal humans in a fictional movie doesn't only make a movie different from the others, it also makes the movie more realistic. You see the humans, and you say "Alright, there are humans, this story includes real stuff." This way, you also start to think the wizards are real.

Another reason I liked the muggle term is that we are also muggles. Yes, we are not super genius people who can make a time machine in 1 day, we are not super-soldiers, we are not meta-human beings that can fly or have laser eyes. We are just muggles. And, when you see those muggles like you in the movies, you think you are living with wizards in this world. Then, you see Harry who grew up in a muggle family is a wizard, so why can't you be? Maybe your parents just adopted you and you are a wizard.
Speaking of wizards, let's continue with my second reason the wizard term. Unlike the muggle term, wizards are common characters in many movies and many books. But Harry Potter used this term differently than other movies and books. In Harry Potter, you don't see just the cool tricks that they do, you also see the curse and hardness of becoming a wizard.

In Harry Potter, having a wand doesn't protect you from the hardness of life. You still have problems with your friends, sometimes you feel happy and sometimes sad. You pass all the steps the muggles pass in their life, everything is just a little bit more magical. In the first 2 movies, we see the childhood of our characters, in the 3rd and 4th movie we see the puberty of them, in the 5th and 6th movie they started to become adults and in the 7th movie they became adults in every way. This growing process includes true and wrong friendships, love, and hate.
Harry Potter movies and books also show the curse of becoming a wizard, as you are from a minority class in the world. If you have a muggle father or mother, other wizards discriminate against you, if you are a wizard, muggles discriminate against you. So it is a quite hard life.
Harry Potter created a world consisting of both humans and wizards and their relations rather than just showing a magical utopia. It also focused on the hard process of becoming a wizard. The movie was realistic, impressive, and successful. When I watched the movies, I felt like I was also in the movies. As I said before, Harry Potter has lots of more things that made movies so successful, so we can write other Harry Potter posts. Although books were more detailed, movies have their own unique beauty, so I would recommend them to everyone.
If you want to see more magical movies like Harry Potter
