“Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it isn't so.”
― Lemony Snicket, The Blank Book

Firstly, I want to say that all the movies on this list are at the same brain-wrenching level, as they are all made to leave watchers questioning their intelligence after the movie. Movies in this list are the best choices for the ones who get pleasure while their brain is slowly burning. On the other hand, if you don't want your intelligence to be tested you should avoid these movies as they are brain-bulldozers. Either way, I recommend you to read this list which is full of confusing movies that will cause chaos in your mind. If you are ready, here comes the best brain-wrench movies of all time.

Se7en
7 murders, 2 detectives, 1 killer, 100% confusion guarantee. Se7en includes one of the most famous twists of cinema history which causes you to roll over on the seat of the cinema and shout for hours after the movie. The last sentence was not entirely true, but I think it helps to understand the feelings you feel at the end of the movie. Without giving any more spoilers, let's skip to the next movie which is...

Inception
You will get into depression, as you will start to question reality after this movie. Christopher Nolan slaps you with his super intelligence once again. When you relax at the end as you think everything is solved, the final and the biggest twist comes and you understand that everything was a dream. Or was everything real? I don't know, am I real? Anyway, let's continue with the next movie before I lose my understanding of reality again.

The Sixth Sense
Sixth Sense seems like a normal thriller movie when you start watching the movie and it continues like this until the end of the movie. While the movie is finishing, you are saying "It was a nice movie." then, the big twist comes and you suddenly freeze. When we finished the movie, we watched the beginning of the movie again to make sure that there is not a plot hole, and believe me there isn't.

The Prestige
Prestige actually explains its plot structure in the film. First, Nolan shows something ordinary which is two magicians. Then, everything becomes complicated and this is the part your brain starts to burn, but in the final everything becomes sensible and the impressive show ends.

Memento
The best part of Memento which separates this movie from other Nolan movies is that you stop trying to understand the movie after 30 minutes of watching it. The movie is so complicated that you stop forcing your brain and just wait for the end. In the end, you finish the movie pretending like you understood everything which we prefer to call as Nolan Effect.

Predestination
Predestination is actually the simplest movie I have ever seen. We have a barkeep who is Ethan Hawke and a customer who comes to the bar who is also Ethan Hawke. One of these Ethan Hawkes tries to stop a bomber who is also Ethan Hawke. And one of Ethan Hawkes has a child from another Ethan Hawke, of course, the child is also Ethan Hawke. There are some side characters who are also Ethan Hawkes. They must have paid good money to Ethan Hawke. If you don't believe it, go watch the movie: you will understand me better.

Fight Club
Fight Club is another movie that seems normal until the end but at the end burns your brain. Although it was not hard to understand the movie and the twist at the end, the movie plays with the plot's reality causes a sudden confusion at the moment of the twist. Who knows maybe you have a split personality and I am an imaginary writer in your mind?
